Philosophy of the class (why I do this):
- I have taught classic guitar and other forms of guitar playing since I was in college.   At that time I charged for lessons (I was a poor college student).   Since then, for over thirty years, I have not charged for lessons.   I just enjoy teaching music.
- Obviously since I am a pastor there is a Christian element to what I do.   So we sing Christian songs and use Christian music.
- Let's be plain, I love God and love to worship Him.   And music can be a beautiful form of worship.
- However, I don't pressure anyone to change churches or even become Christian.   There will be printed Christian material available if you are interested, or you can talk to me about faith issues after class.   But the classes are provided as a church outreach to teach guitar playing.
- I began these guitar classes for the public, through Amazing Grace, in September 2002 and we have had about 250 students so far.
- We also have enjoyed several of these guitar class graduates playing music in the praise team at Amazing Grace.   That's always a lot of fun!
- Just remember, the lessons you learn here can be used for any kind of music.
Parents Note:
- Parents are encouraged to sit in the class with students.
- This provides your child with an extra "set of ears" to hear what is being taught.
- Parents have the option to share material and play along!
- Children 16 and under must have a parent on the premises during the class!
Invite your friends:
- Do you have friends that want to learn to play guitar?
- Invite them, too!
- Each student must register so tell your friends to email Amazing Grace as soon as possible.
